22 weeks!

I can’t believe it! We are over half way to meeting our little one. It has seemed like a lifetime and yet, so short.

Carla has a bump now, it’s so firm and I love to touch her belly. I’m sure she gets sick of it, but I love it. It’s amazing to think that our baby is growing in there, getting stronger everyday!

Speaking of getting stronger, bub booted Carla really strongly a couple of times the other day. I’m yet to feel anything but that’s because the placenta is anterior – the darn thing! Hopefully not much longer and I’ll be able to feel something.

We did a gender reveal for family and close friends a couple of weeks ago. We filled a huge (90cm) black balloon with coloured confetti – a lots of it – and then popped it with an IVF needle haha. It was the sharpest needle we had in the home and kind of fitting as well. Everyone was stoked and started asking a million questions about the nursery etc.

We are planning to not reveal to the wider world but will instead announce the sex of Pingu when he/she is born. But for now, I’m happy that some people know as it was hard to keep the secret in conversation.

The day after the gender reveal, we saw a movie with some of Carla’s family and went shopping after. They bought so many clothes and so did we! Some people we know have also said they will be giving us some of their bubbas clothing. We are so lucky!

This weekend we are off to Thailand for a whole entire week.

I.

Can’t.

Wait.

Just to be able to relax and not do anything unless we want to. And we don’t plan to do much. I’ll be doing some writing and reading, which I’m very much looking forward to.

This year has brought so much happiness into my life. I can’t wait to see what the rest of it brings!
